College isn't for everyone, but I do hate to see people not go because of money issues.  Here's a couple of sites that can help you pay for an education http://www.salliemae.com/before_college/students_plan/free_money/scholarships/scholarships.htm and http://www.fastweb.com/ .  Fastweb is something I used when I was planning for college.  Sallie May is new to me, but casting your nets wide is a good idea.

You should also go to the website of the school as well as the specific program that you're interested in.  I ended up getting a full tuition scholarship through the honors program.  I lost it after 2 years due to health issues that I didn't realize were health issues soon enough, but it was still a big help.  I also picked up a smaller scholarship, a $500 savings bond for a speech contest.  It wasn't as helpful, but the little ones can add up.

Many scholarship are need based or have a need based element.  There's also scholarships geared towards those who've had hardships.  So if there's anything good about not making much, it's that you qualify for more money for school.  It's a little late to start looking for aide this year, but now's a good time to be thinking about next year.

Small Business Education Sites

Living on Minimum Wage
All this talk of college had me thinking about going back for an M.B.A., so I've been looking at programs and waffling.  It's a lot of time and money for something that I don't exactly need and I'm not entirely sure I want.  Particularly when there's free educational programs out there.

I think I mentioned the Tennessee Small Business Development Centers  (http://www.tsbdc.org/) before.  I'm a little annoyed with them since they seem to have lost my request for a one on one couseling session.  However I've decided to go ahead and sign up for their Small Business Boot Camp.  It's free, so the most I'll lose is a Saturday morning.

For those of you outside of TN the U.S. Small Business Administration (http://www.sba.gov/) has free online courses and as well as other resources.  I'm gonna try reading through this website and see if it answers my questions.  I'm very curious about their Accounting 101, since that's one of the subjects I was considering going back to school for.
